小港醫院位居南高雄陸海空交通要衝及重工業區，空污議題不可漠視，5/29在小港醫院舉辦「環境體驗空污教育課程」發表會，小港醫院邀請合作夥伴國立中山大學氣膠科學研究中心、高雄市太平國小、高雄醫學大學，並在高雄市政府教育局吳榕峯局長與鄭光峰議員的共同見證下，向大眾說明「空污課程納入學校校訂課程」、「VR、桌遊導入空氣品質教育」及「抗霾聯盟APP」，藉由翻轉教育三部曲引導學生創造思考、科技輔助學習的目的。
小港醫院郭昭宏院長表示，空氣污染與健康的問題層出不窮，小港醫院致力於發展環境職業醫療特色，由高雄醫學大學健康科學院黃友利院長及其他專業人才共同組成空污防衛隊，融合學術與環境特色，建置空氣污染課程，並將數位化內容融入教學課程，利用虛擬實境、擴增實境的闖關遊戲，為學生帶來樂趣和深度的學習世界。
高雄醫學大學USR團隊針對小港區及其周邊環境特色，以高雄醫學大學作為人才培育基地，高雄市小港區為實踐場域，將鄰近所產生的環境污染與健康促進等衍伸問題，從空氣汙染、環境檢測、校園宣導、社區關懷、專業教育等面向作為計畫重點，在3年內逐步推動，未來可望讓小港地區成為高雄市工業區「居民與環境和平共處」、「學校與社會教育共學」、「健康與生活促進共好」的重點示範區。
為讓學童的學習不再只是課本的背誦，小港醫院、中山大學與太平國小三方(醫療、學術、教育)組成抗霾策略聯盟，太平國小團隊編寫108年課綱校訂課程「環保綠生活」，擬定一套讓學童認識空污議題防治及保護自身健康的跨領域統整課程，連貫1~6年級的課程；中山大學研發的VR及桌遊等媒介，讓孩子的學習更加活潑及多元，能夠在生活情境中建構活用的知識來解決問題並改善生活，逐步落實十二年國民基本教育。
高醫體系投入更大量的資源與心力，從小培養學童對於空氣污染與環境教育的課題，本次產學合作即希望將空污課程從國小推行至全高雄，成為全國污染防治與環境教育特色亮點相關領域的標竿。
