桃園市楊梅區榮平路為楊梅通往平鎮區重要道路車流量龐大，但因路寬約4至6公尺造成會車困難，甚至出現必須倒車至路寬讓道情形，遇上下班交通尖峰時段經常塞車，讓行經該路段民眾相當困擾，桃園市議會議長邱奕勝11日與李家興議員現勘，要求工務局改善將道路瓶頸打通。
為解決因路寬不足造成交通擁塞問題，邱奕勝等人在會勘榮平路後，預計拓寬範圍自榮平路與快速路五段交叉路口，迄於榮平路與陸光路與復旦路四段交叉路口前，現已完成道路定線及地方說明會，道路開發終見曙光。
邱奕勝表示、榮平路瓶頸打通後，可解決當地交通雍塞問題，讓平鎮區往來楊梅高山頂地區更加便利，擴大楊梅生活圈，改善全區交通減少交通意外產生，吸引更多廠商、人才進駐。
