桃園市長鄭文燦6月20日下午前往中壢區林森國小，出席「108學年度國小市長獎獲獎同學與市長合影活動」時表示，桃園今（109）年國小共有912位學生獲得市長獎，獲頒市長獎需要各方面表現優異，足以成為同學間的表率，這些獲得市長獎的同學們踏出了人生中漂亮的一步，是給自己，也是可與家人分享的最好畢業禮物。鄭市長也表示，國中、高中是一個自主學習、探索學習的重要階段，期勉每位畢業生在未來的學習歷程中，規劃好自己的興趣與性向，找尋精彩人生的道路，並祝福所有畢業生畢業快樂。
鄭市長說，今年市長獎獎座以「智慧學習，教育標竿」為理念設計，市府並致贈包括音箱、藍芽耳機及無線充電行動電源等獎品，期許每位獲獎學生可以充分享受數位科技帶來的學習樂趣。台灣的教育品質逐年提升，而桃園積極推動智慧教育，在2020各縣市教育施政滿意度調查，也獲得六都第一的優異成績，市府將持續支持身處教育第一線的老師及教育工作者，讓學校壓力小一點、夢想大一點。
