109年上半年北屯區36里守望相助隊常年訓練由臺中市政府警察局第五分局於7月21日在北屯區公所六樓禮堂盛大舉行，隊員熱烈出席，其中22名績優守望相助隊受獎人員，分別協助警方於車禍事故現場協助救護、指揮交通等優良事蹟，由分局長郭士傑親自頒發獎狀表揚。
常年訓練首堂課程，由郭分局長與守望相助隊員們分享「守望相助隊推動策略」，感謝受獎績優人員平日為里鄰社區服務，並宣導「臺中市政府警察局運用民力加強治安情資蒐報執行計畫」，以幽默口吻解說毒品、詐騙犯罪及交通宣導，鼓勵守望相助隊員用心注意週邊不尋常人、事、物，踴躍提供各項犯罪情資；郭分局長最後並特別宣傳臺中市的治安數據，不僅在今年1到6月全般刑案、詐欺、暴力犯罪及全般竊盜等發生數也都是六都最低，另外依據內政部警政署在治安民調顯示，臺中市民在「居住社區整體治安狀況滿意度」項目，滿意度高達95%，為全國第一，另外在肅槍、緝毒、掃黑、打詐工作亦是六都第一。
接續課程有分局教官的「服勤技能-擒拿與綜合逮捕術」，讓各個隊員躍躍欲試、摩拳擦掌，紛紛主動上前參與示範演練，並起身比手劃腳，絲毫不馬虎。再來是第五分局偵查隊針對「反詐騙」、「反毒品」、「反霸凌」、「防竊盜」及「反暴力(性侵)」及淨化妨害青少年成長環境等犯罪預防宣導；最後由分局家防官宣導有關性騷擾以及家庭暴力的相關應處方法及生活中實際案例，讓隊員參加本次訓練滿載而歸。
此次常年訓練，除了大家齊聚一堂，彼此聯繫情感更加熟稔之外，落實的常訓也無形中提昇守望相助隊員們的協勤技能，警民合作共同守護北屯區的社區治安，相信臺中市必能成為全臺甚至是國際最宜居的城市。
