中華電信與淡江大學視障資源中心8/7將雙方30餘年來共同研發的盲用電腦系統，捐贈國立科學工藝博物館，並於科工館內成立國內首座常設視障導覽服務的電信館，方便視障朋友「看見」科工館，現場邀請逾20位視障者體驗科工館之專業導覽，實踐身心障礙者權利公約(The Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities，簡稱CRPD)的精神，積極透過科技落實數位與文化平權。
淡江大學視障資源中心電腦系統工程師、本身也是視障朋友的張金順表示，以往就對通訊、氣象、動植物等科技充滿好奇和想像，沒想到可以觸摸到電信電纜線路、探空氣球、投落送、立體地球儀、IDF飛機模型、各式各樣的樹葉與種子。非常謝謝中華電信能舉辦這個活動，有很多熱心的志工，科工館、愛樹協會專業的解說，加上無障礙的 QR code設計，讓視障者能更深度的接觸科學，未來希望淡大能與中華電信攜手開發出更多元的生活應用，嘉惠更多視障朋友。
科工館「電信館」採用中華電信與淡大合作開發建置的「博物館視障深度導覽整合方案」，讓展品增加QR code解說、點字觸摸及專業人員介紹等無障礙導覽，方便視障朋友「看見」；同時針對捐贈典藏的盲用電腦設備，包括原型機、語音合成器、超點點字觸摸顯示器等特別製成影片，方便參觀民眾了解台灣表現亮眼的電信發展史。參與體驗科工館行程視障朋友，透過視障無障礙App(語音隨身助理)，不僅出發前就可先聽讀展覽的相關資訊；在科工館藉由推播訊息瀏覽展品的詳細介紹，更可以透過文字、影像辨識掌握周遭環境，當天安排生態導覽團隊，帶領視障朋友至科工館外活動，讓視障者了解周遭的植物、親近大自然，感受這片土地旺盛的生命力。
中華電信謝繼茂董事長表示，中華電信自1988年起便攜手淡江大學視障資源中心協助視障朋友就學、就業，不僅協助視障朋友學習、培養專業，還在2009年成立「EYE社會創新客服中心」，讓視障朋友透過職務再設計，從事電話客服工作，轉化學習成果為就業能力，幫助自己順利就業、自食其力。隨著科技不斷進步，中華電信與淡江大學更善用專業、結合科技，傾力延伸幫助視障朋友的範圍至生活應用領域，領先開創「博物館視障深度導覽整合方案」，帶領視障朋友運用視力以外的感官走進博物館，讓視障者也能「看見」博物館，弭平與一般人的文化落差，落實公司倡議的「I幫盲」作為，實踐數位、文化平權；同時也希望塑造成功應用範例，吸引國內各博物館群起群起效尤、引進此整合方案，如此不僅將是視障朋友最大的福音，也是中華電信實踐聯合國永續發展目標(SDGs)中第九項「產業、創新和基礎建設」、第十項「減少不平等」目標的具體貢獻。
中華電信為幫助視障朋友充分體會「看見」博物館的樂趣，在行前舉辦企業志工專業的「I幫盲」課程，教導企業志工們如何「I分享」-有效、適當的幫助視障朋友，因此當天活動中，每位視障朋友有一位專屬企業志工陪伴，一起感受新奇有趣的內容、盡情享受室內、戶外的種種貼心巧思。
科工館陳訓祥館長表示，歡迎多元族群進入博物館，是我們長期以來的重點。陳館長憶及1980年代，時任教育部社會教育司第二科科長，綜理全國特殊教育事務，在教育部對於特教教育機會均等的方針下，致力貫徹是項政策，於是中華電信的資源挹注與淡江大學的技術支援下，盲用資訊系統開始發展，透過「文字轉點字」與「文字轉聲音」技術，輔助視障者發展資訊能力。科工館同步展示早期的與最新的視障資訊設備，讓大家可以看到在30年間，臺灣如何運用科技能力，友善身心障礙人士，達到平權社會。科工館培訓的專業導覽人員，著重觸覺、聽覺的引導與解說，展開雙臂熱情歡迎視障朋友前來感受科技的奧秘。
