本(6)月23日在臺北市內湖區1名94歲老婦人行走行人穿越道通過路口時，遭左轉小客車前車頭碰撞，造成老婦人送醫傷重不治。警方沉重表示：「肇事者敘述的都是相同的肇事情節(轉彎被「A柱」阻擋視線，沒看到行人)不斷重演，其實只要做好一個『擺頭』動作，就可避免傷亡事故發生」。
經統計106年至今(109)年5月，臺北市轉彎車碰撞行人之死亡交通事故計有25件、死亡26人，占總行人死亡人數95人比例高達27%，尤其左轉彎20件最多，為右轉彎的4倍，臺北市政府警察局表示：汽車車身每側有三個立柱，其中前擋風玻璃左右兩側斜柱，俗稱「A柱」，當汽車在轉彎時，駕駛人行進方向視野容易被「A柱」部分遮擋，造成視線死角的情形，尤其是左轉彎時最為明顯，駕駛人開車一旦疏忽轉彎之行駛特性，經過行人穿越道時，常因此碰撞行人，發生嚴重傷亡事故。
依據「道路交通管理處罰條例」第48條規定，汽車駕駛人轉彎或變換車道時，應注意來、往行人，轉彎前應減速慢行，且除了禁止行人穿越路段外，應暫停讓行人優先通行，違者處新臺幣1,200元以上3,600元以下罰鍰，並記違規點數1點，如肇事致人受傷再加記3點。臺北市政府警察局交通警察大隊特別呼籲：汽車駕駛人轉彎時除了依規定顯示方向燈及查看後照鏡外，並轉頭朝「有行車動線交會可能之方向」，確認有無來車，行經行人穿越道前，更應提高警覺，「擺頭」避開「A柱」所造成之視覺死角陷阱，確認有無行人，再行通過！
為提升用路人交通安全知能，交通警察大隊陸續製作拍攝各種宣導影片，民眾可登入臉書「北市好行 交大隨行」粉絲專頁連結該影片，並訂閱「北市好行 交大隨行」 youtube 頻道，以掌握最新、正確的交通安全訊息。
