在許多尋求姻緣的「短腿族」心中，總認為如果能長高一點，就容易有好姻緣，不過，最近幾位超過185公分男生以及176公分以上女生，卻焦急找不到另一半，尤其讓資深社工訝異的是，「高高配」似乎不靈光，一位191公分的男生坦言，自己跑受身高買不到衣褲床鋪之苦，如果找個「高個兒」另一半，下一代會比自己更慘，他的話一出口，讓身高171公分的徐乃義主任作勢想「捶他」！
端午連假，除了「報復性休假」，也有不少未婚或失偶男女「反撲式找對象」，中壢區美滿服務中心出現一波波回鄉過節的未婚男女，有的是同事相伴，也有父母作陪，更多是單槍匹馬希望找對象，希望即將到來的中秋節不用高唱「我甘願孤單」。
四位在科學園區上班的高個男生，身高分別由187到194公分，194公分的工程師告訴中壢區美滿服務中心主任徐乃義，在國外留學時，不少美籍女生身高在185以上，但因為總覺得白人有優越感，所以沒有深交；另一位191公分的男生則認為自己長得高，念書時總覺得鶴立雞群很不自在，加上平時日常生活很不方便，搭公車時都不知道腳要怎麼擺放，直到出社會訂製專用床，才感受雙腳伸直的放鬆，但冬天蓋棉被也是很不方便，他不知道父親身高169，母親154，他為什麼會191公分？如果「高高配」，下一代將如何？
徐乃義告訴他們，有位身高178的女老師，不知四人意願如何，沒料到四人異口同聲說，「免了吧」，不希望「高高配」！
在桃園市擔任國中組長的172公分女老師和另一位178公分體育女老師，也告訴徐乃義，只要男生幽默，品行好，工作正常，她們可以接受比自己少5至10公分男生，只是，不少男生不敢「高攀」。
不過，一位身高172公分，在知名交通事業擔任專員的碩士男生，卻要求徐乃義安排身高169公分以上女生，只是他的魅力似乎不足，仍然「摃龜」中。
徐乃義回憶早期一位長庚大學身高178女生和身高193公分弟弟，姊弟也希望另一半不要找高個兒，因為「巨人家庭」不好玩，幾經思考，認將來的另一半不一定非「男高女低」，女生還調皮的說，有些較高壯的高個兒男生還有手腳笨重之嫌哩！
徐乃義主表示：個子高低可能會造成第一印象，但個頭高低與婚姻成敗無關，有自信，成熟，準備好結婚，外在因素只是一項，不是唯一。◇
