南投縣政府於8月6日（星期三）上午9時，假榮獲五星級溪頭米堤大飯店舉辦慶祝父親節、母親節暨全縣模範父親、母親表揚大會，由副縣長陳正昇先生親自頒獎，今年縣府共表揚13位模範父親16位模範母親，飯店總經理李麗裕為表達最大的祝福及慶賀之意，贊助模範父親及母親食宿，向偉大的父親母親們致敬。南投縣政府原預定於本(109)年5月份舉辦慶祝母親節暨表揚模範母親活動，為因應新型冠狀病毒（COVID-19）疫情，並配合中央疫情指揮中心相關防疫措施，延期至8月6日父親節前夕併同舉辦全縣模範母親、父親表揚大會，希望藉此讓子女能為父母的事蹟深感驕傲，也讓模範母親的溫柔堅毅與模範父親的慈愛典範傳揚下去。今年活動選在溪頭米堤大飯店舉行，並於活動前一天，安排每位模範母親、父親入住，接受飯店贊助免費住宿招待，感謝媽媽及爸爸扛起家庭的重擔，場面熱鬧溫馨又感人。
林明溱縣長誠摯地祝賀大家「母親節、父親節快樂！」，並向每位辛勞一生的媽媽及爸爸表示最大的敬意。今年模範母親、父親依循往例，由各公所推薦，今年全縣共選拔出16位模範母親，其中13位為鄉鎮市母親代表，另3位屬於身心障礙模範母親代表，模範父親計有水里鄉張映川先生等13人，另有埔里鎮陳正雄先生、集集鎮石火泉先生當選身心障礙模範父親，共計表揚31名模範母親及父親。模範母親入選中年紀最高齡者為住在竹山鎮96歲的林陳娥女士，出生於貧困家庭，育有二男一女，先生於日據時代受徵召當兵後因生病往生，含辛茹苦教養子女成為社會各行業中翹楚；模範父親入選中年紀最高齡者則為水里鄉95歲的張映川先生，38年初，在時代變遷下離鄉背井遷台，雖未曾再回到出生故土盡人子之孝，但這後代子孫們，各個都能克盡本份闖出屬於自己的一片天，承歡膝前，共享人倫之樂，不亦樂乎。
這幾年米堤大飯店秉持回饋社會、關懷弱勢的理念，舉辦各式公益活動；從養生健檢、家扶送暖、紙風車孩童表演…等、更於每年贊助敬老與父、母親節活動，喚起社會大眾對於親情與公益的重視同時也呼籲民眾應當多陪伴家人，到郊外走走，享受親情與大自然時光。
