臺灣居住環境越來越受肯定，不僅治安良好，防疫措施也相當安全，使得外籍人士在臺居留相當舒適捨不得回國，想盡辦法也要繼續待在臺灣，而且還要面不改色的擬一套說詞，幸好警方辦案經驗豐富，一眼便拆穿逾期居留的移工謊言，將他們移送相關機關法辦。
臺中市第五警分局北屯派出所警員黃浤原與趙伯修於8月13日6時30分在北平路與天津路口攔查一部自小客車，該車駕駛人未繫安全帶，查證後座乘客身分時發現是兩名外籍移工，員警請其出示居留證，其中男性移工欲開車門趁機離去，員警機警立即將該車門擋住避免逃跑，並且在警方查證下遲遲拿不出居留證。
另一名女移工表示將居留證拍在手機中，員警查看發現女移工本人與手機中照片顯有差異，但她卻泰若自然地笑稱是10年前的照片，她來臺灣十幾年了，所以才會不一樣。
黃員經驗豐富，仔細比對其五官確信為不同人，支援之同仁到達後，再次確認女移工之照片並詢問女移工幾年次時，女移工吞吞吐吐，警方問她1997年是否正確？女移工竟回答沒錯，再次跟她確認才又改口為1983、1984年，如何不知自己的出生年月日？惟女移工堅持該居留證確實為本人，僅是10年前照片才有所不同，員警勿枉勿縱，將移工帶往專勤隊按壓指紋查證身分，確認兩名移工為逾期居留移工(男65年次、女68年次)遂將兩名移工立案送辦。
分局長郭士傑呼籲，法網恢恢，疏而不漏，不可心存僥倖，想蒙騙過關絕不可行，警方均會仔細查證，千萬不要以身試法。
